As the seasons change and the days shorten and we prepare for the colder months we wrap up, turn on the heating and adapt our skincare routine. Yes summer is finally over and we preparing for Winter however that may look this year.
This week has been pretty hectic preparing new scent blends for winter candles and converting from bee soy wax candles to a more Vegan friendly Coconut Soy candles, it has been pretty tough.
The children are back at school and homework is coming in thick and fast, my youthful summer glow has been replaced with my tired mommy look. This week as some of my summer fresh natural ingredients will no longer be available I have been looking at what I can use to bring back my much missed youthful glow. My research has lead me to look at the skins elasticity,
As our skin ages it loses a lot of its plumpness and elasticity this is due to (among other things) our natural collagen production slowing down in our bodies. Here are a few simple tips we can implement to improve the overall appearance, slow down the ageing process and prevent loose skin. We can achieve this by using high quality natural ingredients including essential fatty acids, vitamins and plant sterols. These ingredients feed our lipid matrix, they are the cell membranes or membrane rafts in the skin, basically they are what keeps your skin plump and youthful.
I have added this videos as i have done the massage on myself and children and it really does help with stuffy noses give it a try!! It is amazing!!

One of the best ingredients I have found during my research has been the underrated Pumpkin. This beautiful Orange winter squash with its thick shell, seeds and pulp holds the secret to anti aging skincare, so before you scoop out the beautiful nutrient rich flesh for the kids Halloween lantern take a look at all the yummy benefits of this seasonal fruit.
The Humble pumpkin, it has many uses, but an all round skin perfecting oil is not usually high on my list. During my research I have found that pumpkins contain high levels of Vitamin E, Zinc, Omega 3 & 6, Vitamin C, Vitamin K, Beta Carotene, Potassium to name but a few. Pumpkins also contain antioxidants which help fight free radicals which help you maintain a youthful glow.
Pumpkin seed oil is great at fighting acne as it soothes irritation, improves skin texture, helps with scaring as it also increases circulation which speeds up healing. I have found two great recipes using organic and natural ingredients combined with a great ready made liquid soap bases. This week we have made a facial wash with castile soap and a natural ingredient shower gel with Pumpkin seed oil, As it improves skins elasticity I have decided this be the perfect recipe for the cold autumn months.
As the years have gone by my weight has yo-yo'd, I have been using natural oil recipes for a long time and they have left my skin supple and taught. so no loose skin so far even after two pregnancies but I have found my skin can get used to recipes and products so to spice up my skincare selfcare Sunday routine I wanted to create something fitting for the seasonal change.
